Wow, it's really amazing to see all of you who have been "found" and read about your lives now. You are all awesome! After getting my degree in nursing, I married a newly graduated vet student from LSU and moved to West Virginia, Wild and Wonderful! I LOVE it here! We've been married for over 26 years and have 2 wonderful children. We also own 2 veterinarian hospitals with 3 other vets working for us. Our son, Jeremy, 24, is finishing up a biomedical engineering degree, and our daughter, Alyssa, 20, is in her 3rd year as a chem major. After next year, she will apply for physician's assistant's school. I haven't worked in nursing for over 10 years now when Alyssa was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. That's when I began heavily volunteering for the WV chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. What a ride it has been! Her disease keeps us busy when she's home and we're always on-call while she's at school. I've had the opportunity to talk with Legislators from our state, to speak with researchers about advances being made, to meet with all the families statewide dealing with this horrible disease, and to preside over various events sponsored by JDRF. I've been blessed! It's great to hear from all of my Buccaneer friends and get caught up with all the news of our lives. What a great life! |

BS from NLU, Moved to Chicago - worked in Interior Design field, moved to Texas - got married worked for Estee Lauder for 10 years, quit - had 2 girls, now 14 & 17 - worked for 6 years in their schools - which brings us to now. Opened a retail store with my sister Barbara and are in our 5th year. It is so much fun!! We love it. |
